Derek Welsh is a competitive tennis player that has held top rankings in the state of Tennessee, Southern divisions and nationally over the past 10 years. He was ranked #1 in the Men’s Open division in 2008 in the state of Tennessee and his Southern Final 2016 ranking in his age division was #2. He grew up playing junior tennis in Florida and later went on to play and start all four years at Auburn University in Montgomery, Alabama on a full tennis scholarship. His collegiate team was ranked in the top 10 nationally for all four years he attended. Derek is currently a Team Head sponsored athlete and is sponsored by Head UK Ltd. as a high level adult tournament player. 
Derek has taught and coached tennis privately and professionally. He has worked as a teaching professional for Club Med, Paradise Island Bahamas and The Boys & Girls Clubs of America Miami, FL, in addition to working with various tennis programs throughout the US. He was the head tennis professional at Green Meadow Country Club in Maryville, TN during 2016 and 2017. Derek has coached tennis players of all levels including nationally ranked junior players, collegiate tennis players and adult 
players.
